Another little victory of Blender
by on 27.07.2008. 00:06
An artist, Eric Tobiason, used Modo (another 3D application - one of my favorites) for modeling a water glass, ice cubes, imported them in Blender and used it for fluid simulation. The resulted objects where imported back to Modo, textured and rendered. The original article is here and, if you want to find those images (are two) on Modo gallery site, you must search for fluid keyword.
Click on image to see the most interesting of two.

Alchemy: a little but very nice animation
by on 26.07.2008. 00:04
Alchemy is a short animation made in Blender by Jason Pierce. You don't need a great target and a long movie to make something good. I like how well the story is put on scene. Maybe some of character animation scenes are not so great but in general is a success. Is a good and inspiring animation for beginners.

Personally, I like the scene when The Mad Scientist go up and down on stairs with his lamp, and inside laboratory I like the look of his glasses, the glass bottles and the candle.

Blender 3D
by on 08.07.2008. 13:34
Blender become stronger and stronger every day. I think is the only application in the world where you can do entire production. Modeling, animation, final rendering, post processing, montage, and final movie. The only external process is burning the movie onto DVD. See here for features.
After first open movie, Elephants Dream, Blender is at his second open movie, Big Buck Bunny. Open movie mean that is free for download and you have access at all production files, scenes and textures.
